The BEST in SMALL-GROUP GUIDED SIGHTSEEING TOURS OF YELLOWSTONE AND GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARKS

LEAVING OUT OF JACKSON HOLE, WY.

CALLOWISHUS IS NOW ACCEPTING TOUR RESERVATIONS FOR THE 2012 TOUR SEASON!

WE HOPE TO BE PART OF YOUR PLANS IN YELLOWSTONE AND GRAND TETON THIS SUMMER.

WONDERLAND! THE MAJESTIC TETONS! Experience the breath-taking views of the prettiest place on Earth! Your driver/guide will show you the beautiful Tetons, bubbling hot springs and mud pots, water falls twice the height of Niagara, and spouting geysers for which there is only one word: "Wow!"

Yes, we see wildlife, and keep binoculars handy. We (pretty much) see buffalo (yes, same as bison) on every tour, elk and/or moose probably 3/4ths of the tours, antelope and coyote often, and occasionally the elusive bear and wolf. We know where to look for what. And we tell good stories! Of the history, geology, flora and fauna,,,and a few scary ones! We have fun! (Everyone knows everyone else's name--we put small groups together until we get 4-10 people.) All tours start from Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The Yellowstone National Park Tour is a full-day excursion of the Lower Loop of the Grand Loop Road, leaving town around 7:30 a.m. We drive through Grand Teton Park and stop at the eloquent Jackson Lake Lodge where guests may enjoy a cup of coffee and doughnuts as we drive through Grand Teton on the way to Yellowstone. We stop for critters!

We get to the Old Faithful around 10:30, where everyone's on their own for 2 -2 1/2 hours because this is one of the most amazing places on the planet. Stroll the boardwalk, amid the hot springs, where 25% of all the geysers in the world are located. Gaze in awe at the Historic Old Faithful Inn (opened in 1904--now a Historical Landmark). You have six places to choose from for lunch. Or check out the Visitor Center with the movie that takes you inside a geyser. Or watch the seismograph for earthquake activity--you're inside a volcano! After lunch, we'll travel north to Firehole Lake Drive and the Fountain Paint Pots trail. Mud pots!

We'll continue on the loop, cruise along Virginia Cascades Drive, head to the center of the park for an ice cream break. Yea! Then to the surreal, wondrous Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the fantastic 308-foot waterfall. We'll visit Lookout Point for what we think is the best view in the Park. Have your camera ready!

We'll see more cool stuff, look for wildlife, stop at the Lake Hotel on Lake Yellowstone, make a big loop, and get back to Jackson around 6:30 p.m. It's a 260-mile loop to see all the features!

The tour leaves Teton Village at 7:00AM with pickups in town from 7:20 to 7:40AM, and returns (after a full day) to town between 6:30-7:00PM and to Teton Village between 7:00-7:30PM.

The Grand Teton Park Tour leaves town by 8:30am depending, again, on the number of pick-ups. The tour travels around the Antelope Flats Road, stopping for an early morning photo-op, then stops briefly at the Grand Teton National Park Visitor's Center. The tour then proceeds to Jenny Lake for a scenic boat ride, included in the price! Take your camera!.

Following the boat ride (approx. 45 minutes), we'll climb (driving!) 1200 feet up to Signal Mountain for a fantastic view/photo op of the Jackson Hole area. We'll drive down for lunch at the Signal Mountain Lodge with beautiful views of Jackson Lake. (We'll sit together, but lunch will be on your own.) After lunch, we'll drive the Outer Road, stopping for a photo or two and looking for moose around Oxbow Bend. This will take us to Moose Wilson Road leading to Teton Village where we will board the Aerial Tram for a 4,139 foot climb to the top of Jackson Hole Ski Resort. This brings us to an altitude of over 10,000 feet! (Included in the price!) After savoring the view, we will return to town about 3:00 to 3:30pm.

Cal Glover, who had established Callowishus Park Touring Company, had lived in the Jackson Hole / Grand Teton / Yellowstone area since 1971 and had been guiding sightseeing tours of the National Parks since 1989.

Your guide offers small, intimate (4-10 person) tours of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks at less than half the price of our (ummm) competition.

Cal, himself, had also worked in Yellowstone National Park for nine summers, and had since that time published two novels: A Grizzly Death in Yellowstone, a behind-the-scenes look at working in the park and the lives of several seasonal park employees; and The Millennium Project, which takes a different view of the recent Millennium centered in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Matt Fagan, super ski host and Spanish speaker, now operates Callowishus in the spirit of fun and entertainment established by the late Cal Glover.

ALL TOURS ARE NARRATED

History, geology, the trappers and their legacy, flora, fauna, interesting historical anecdotes, the Rockefeller influence, etc, are all discussed. And we'll add a few good (and bad) jokes, if the driver's in the mood!

Ask Questions! We'll talk about current issues, restaurants, local areas of interest, and other activities. Tours take place in a 15 person sightseeing van with a p.a. system. For additional comfort and viewing, tours are normally limited to 10 persons. When 4 or 5 people are touring, a Minivan is used. Tour vehicles are air conditioned for summer comfort and binoculars are available for close-up viewing of the scenery and wildlife
